Heart Leaf Posy Pocket for Paper Players #527
07 February 2021
Happy Sunday.
It's the fabulous Anne Marie's turn to host our Paper Players challenge this week. Of the choice of stars or hearts, I went for hearts. It was a great opportunity for me to use my new Heart Leaf Posy Pocket from The Greetery to create an interactive card.
I used the Knit Wits stencil (also from The Greetery) to create the background and ran that through my Big Shot with the Postal Frames die. I used some of my favorite red Schoolhouse Red card stock from SimonSaysStamp for my Posy Pocket. It was so easy to die cut and I used my mini cut and embossing machine as it was so convenient. (Love that little machine!)
The die has a perfect place for a small sentiment and I used that space to add "love you". I then die-cut another heart to fit inside the posy pocket and stamped the inside sentiment of "with all my heart". I added a hole to the top of the inside heart and tied a little twine. All I had to do was adhere the bottom of my posy pocket and then add it to the knit wit base.
Here's my card:
Isn't that the cutest little heart? I also love the knit wits stencil as they really do look like little hearts! I hope you will join us and play along with Anne Marie's challenge. We can't wait to see what you do with stars or hearts!
As always, the design team have some fabulous inspiration for you:
On a personal note:
Well, I didn't get into my craft room at all in the last week - not even to turn the light on! But, I did get there yesterday to make a couple of cards and I am hoping to be able to do that again today. I've been really busy at work and in my spare time I've been trying to do some genealogy, learn a new piece of software, make potions, lotions and bath bombs and cook.
Our owl visited us a couple of times this week. I managed to catch a couple of shots of him in the bright sunlight against the pale winter blue sky. It was a cold and windy day - but not as cold and windy as it has been the last couple of days. But you can see from the photographs that he was all fluffed up trying to stay warm. I know you saw him last week, but I hope you won't mind me sharing a couple more shots :-) He's so beautiful he deserves to be admired!
Isn't he amazing? You can see why he is called a Barred Owl!
I also promised to share some Valentine's Day decor photos. Claire, I was so pleased that I wasn't the only one who decorated for each season :-)
The tiered tray has been changed out, except the little red truck (still love that truck). The little red truck will be a standing feature I think, but will have whatever is on the flatbed changed out. Gone are the wooden presents and in their place, some glitter hearts!
I love the little mail box, too! Strawberries have a very strong significance for the two of us - so they had to make an appearance on the tiered tray!
The cushions and coffee table decor have been changed out:
As have the decorations on the hall table:
The wreath in the entry hall has been changed out to a Valentine's wreath:
The Christmas gnome on the dining table has been changed out for a love themed one - and the place mat and napkins have a similar color scheme. The Christmas wreath is gone and has bee replaced by hearts and the foliage in the jars have been changed to spring colors. All the Christmas trees have gone and been replaced by some Valentine items instead.
The dangling snowflakes in the entrance hall have been replaced by red hearts. You can just see them if you look in the mirror. The sun was streaming in the front of the house when I tried to take this photo, so it's a little washed out:
Well that's all folks! :-) Now, I am planning what I'm going to do for St Patrick's Day and Easter :-) I'll be back later in the week with another card. In the meantime, warm hugs and prayers for those of you who need a little lift today.
Hugs
Jaydee
