Balloon Bouquet for Paper Players #534
28 March 2021
Happy Sunday.
It's the fabulous Anne Marie's turn to host our Paper Players challenge and it's theme week:
I decided to go all - and feminine! It's a profusion of pink! Someone had better call the carding police - I can't remember ever having made an all pink card. Well, there are touches of white and silver :-)
It was a perfect excuse to use the balloon dies from The Greetery that go with the Balloon Bouquet stamp set. I paired it with some gorgeous DSP that I purchased at JoAnns. One of those 3 for the price of 2 deals. It's by First Edition - and I just love their papers. I used some for the cards I made for the Bearly Art card drive, too.
I die-cut the balloon and sponged it with my Catherine Pooler inks. I stamped a sentiment - also from The Greetery and the card came together really quickly. Of course... I had to add some shimmer and shine to the balloon with my Wink of Stella pens.
Here's my card:
I hope you will along with us this week. We would love to see what you create using this fabulous sketch. As always, the design team have some wonderful inspiration for you:
On a personal note:
Well, the cards finally went off to Bearly Art yesterday. In the end, I sent of 428 cards. Yep.... 428. That's a lot more than I originally intended. 250 was what I was expecting to make. But, once I got started, I couldn't stop and literally made cards right up to the minute before we closed up the box.
A huge thank you to Karen and Doris for donating cards to help raise the number. I really appreciated it - and I know the kids will love your fabulous cards. I have a little thank you coming to both of your email inboxes tomorrow in the form of gift cards to The Greetery. I hope you will find something fun to add to your stamp collection!
Making all those cards meant that I was way behind on my design team challenge cards, so I had to spend this morning catching up! Now, I am off to do some spring cleaning and decorating!
I'll be back later in the week with some photos. In the meantime, warm hugs and prayers for those of you who need a little lift today.
Hugs
Jaydee
Card recipe:
- Cardstock: Neenah Solar White 110#. Blushing Bride - Stampin' Up!
- DSP: Celebrations - First Edition
- Stamps: Sentiment Suite - Birthday, The Greetery
- Dies: Big Balloons - The Greetery
Well, an all-pink creation may not be your usual style Jaydee, but it is so soft and pretty and the balloon with its subtle sparkle makes the perfect focal point! Great job - congratulations on your card drive too!

You're a rock star with the donated cards! I got about 20 or so made and then sent a total of 50+ with some from a few of my customers. I know another customer sent in 100! Any little bit helps though! I love this pink on pink card and I'm not generally a pink lover! The sparkly balloon and fun papers are perfect for a celebration! Have a great week!

Well, I think you are on to something here with an all-pink card, Jaydee! This is absolutely gorgeous, not that I'm partial to pink or anything. Lol! The stitched detail and pop of sparkle are perfect, too. Thanks for rocking my sketch, my friend! Hugs!
