Fresh Air for AtlanticHearts #415

Happy Sunday - again!

This is my second post for today.  You can find my Paper Players card at this link.  Yesterday was the first day in many weeks that I got to make a card just for the fun of it.  I saw this great sketch across at AtlanticHearts and decided to play along.

Before I show you my card, I had to show you the inspiration for it.  I wasn't inspired by the colors - but more by the sentiment on the framed piece.  When we were looking for something to replace the winter themed one of the fireplace in the family room, I saw this and immediately fell in love with it.  After months of being locked up over winter, when it is impossible to leave the windows and doors open or stand outside and enjoy the sun... this sentiment from Laura Ingalls Wilder really appealed to me.

Fresh Air (1 of 1)-4

It's so true!  The first touch of warmth and we throw the windows open, let the cleansing air rush through the house and go out and find the nearest spot of sun that is out of the wind!  So, now that you have seen the inspiration, you will understand why this Fresh Air stamp set from The Greetery really appeals to me.

I stamped the various images and used the matching die cuts to cut out the matching pieces.  I just love this set!

I die cut a vellum curtain from the matching dies and adhered that behind the window frame.  I popped the window frame up just a little, too.

Any idea why I created the shutters in brown?  Did you know that in Tuscany - and other parts of Italy - have very strict color requirements?  They can only be certain shades of brown, green, grey and black!  So, I decided to go with brown :-)

I hope you will check out the Atlantic Hearts Sketch challenges and the fabulous design team and submission cards.  They are full of inspiration for you.

I'll be back later in the week.  In the meantime, warm hugs and prayers for those of you who need a little lift today.

Hugs

Jaydee

This is so unique and stunning! That vellum curtain is perfection. I love all the windows out there right now, but this one is really lovely. The pop of red is just beautiful. Thank you for sharing with us at Atlantic Hearts this week.
