Geared Up Garage for Freshly Made and Festive Friday
21 June 2021
Happy Monday.
I managed to get into my craft room yesterday and made a card for Freshly Made Sketches and FestiveFriday.
(Plaid, blue, things with wheels, clean and simple)
I was so excited that Festive Friday had plaid as one of the options. I love plaid and have tried a couple of the stamp sets that allow you to make your own stripes. To be honest, my stripes made with stamps look more like drunk worms. I can never get them straight and get frustrated. However, The Greetery came out with two different plaid making stencils - one for horizontal and one for diagonal. I jumped on both of those when they were released and they are SO easy to use.
I began with a blue/green/grey color scheme and covered a Neenah Solar White 80# panel. I die cut what I needed for this card and saved the rest for another project. I used the Stampin' Up! Geared Up Garage for my blue and "things on wheels" elements.
The Festive Friday sketch was perfect for what I had in mind. I added a piece of cardstock die cut in an oval and then run through my Big Shot with my Tim Holtz stencil. I added a piece of black cardstock with white embossing powder and the card was ready to go.
Here's my card:
On a personal note:
It rained yesterday - thank goodness. It also dropped the temperature down to 48 degrees. It was so refreshing to hear the rain and feel the cooler temps. It was also a relief for our poor plants. They really soaked up the rain. As it was rainy, I did get to spend some time in my craft room catching up with making cards for my design team commitments and it was wonderful to just escape into inks, paper and stamps! I'll be back later in the week with another card. In the meantime, warm hugs and prayers for those of you who need a little lift today.
Hugs
Jaydee
