Pinwheel Party for Festive Friday #85

Happy Monday

I love playing along with the Festive Friday challenges when I can.  They really are such fun and educational!  The most recent challenge celebrates National Flag Week and I'm getting this card in right under the wire!

For my card I went with CIRCLES, BRIGHT COLORS and STARS.

I pulled out my Pinwheel Party set from the greetery.  It comes with some fabulous layered stencils (btw... no-one does stencils like The Greetery - they are SO easy to use!)  I used some really bright greens,  yellows and oranges to create multicolored circles.  My stars were added around the large sentiment.   This card is another one going off to Send a Smile for kids - so I thought "the brighter the better"!

Here's my card:

Pinwheel Party FF (1 of 1)

Isn't that fun?  Creating the circles was so easy with the multi-layered stencils that are designed to fit right over each other and, although I generally don't use colors as bright as this on a card, they make me smile just looking at it!

On a personal note:

OK.... It went from freezing (literally) to 99!  Friday it was 99, Saturday 94 and today is about the same.  The only difference?  The humidity is starting to pick up.  The birds are spending a lot of time at the bath drinking - and bathing.  It's a pleasure just to watch them.  You can literally see them saying "ah, that felt good!"

I managed to capture a photo of the Downy woodpecker (aka the sugar pecker!) at the jelly feeder.   He was not in the least bit happy about my presence - and you can see the look on his face...... "what are you looking at kid"?  I'm sure that's what his expression says!

Downy (1 of 1)-2

He got the reputation for being "the sugar pecker" because he's the first one to come to the feeder as soon as we put out the jelly in May - and then the next thing he looks for is the hummer feeder!  I was surprised by how many birds use the jelly feeder - the downy, the hairy and the redbellied woodpeckers; the house finches; the cat bird; the rose breasted grosbeaks; the robin and the Baltimore and Orchard Orioles.  So, the natural grape spread doesn't last long!  But it is so worth the investment!

I'll be back tomorrow with another card.  In the meantime, warm hugs and prayers for those of you who need a little lift today.

Hugs

Jaydee
