Happy Sunday,
It's the fabulous Claire's turn to host our Paper Players challenge this week and it's color week:I love these bright, summery colors they work so beautifully together and even though they are way outside of my comfort zone, I loved playing with them.
I decided to bring out my Pinwheel Party set from the Greetery. I thought these colors would make a fabulous birthday card. I know you saw this set a couple of weeks ago on this post, but for this card, I changed the direction, but still get the bright colors.
Here's my card:
One of the things I did differently for this card is the use of the individual circles. I die-cut them and used the matching stencils to color them and then popped them up from the base. To finish off the card I added some enamel dots and added some shading around the pinwheels with my blending brushes. I really love how the card turned out and those pinwheels work perfectly in these bright colors.
I hope you will join us and play along with Chalire's challenge. As always, the design team have some fabulous inspiration for you:
On a personal note:
We had a respite from the high temps yesterday and I managed to spend some time outside in the screened in porch doing some research. There was a cooling breeze, the birds were singing, and it was absolutely glorious. However, we are back to the high temps again today, so I think the outside is going to have to wait!
I do have a bird photo to share with you today. I caught this shot of two mallard drakes under the bird feeder. I loved the fact that one of them was slightly in the shade and the other in bright sunlight. It really showcases how different their feathers look and how beautifully irridescent they are.
Aren't they handsome? It seems fitting that they should have red/orange legs to finish off their sartorial elegance! I'll be back later in the week with another card. In the meantime, warm hugs and prayers for those of you who need a little lift today.
Hugs
Jaydee
