Poinsettia Petals for Addicted to CAS #201
03 July 2021
Happy Saturday
It's the fabulous Nancy's turn to host our Addicted to CAS challenge this week and this is her code word:
Now, I lived in the Southern Hemisphere for a couple of decades and got to understand the concept of Christmas in July. Considering it's usually blistering hot on Christmas Day down there, it always felt more like Christmas in the middle of July when it was nice and cold. However, since living in the mid-west.... where we have cold for many months of the year, I generally don't want to think about the cold. BUT.... having said that, since it's going to be in the 90s AGAIN today - I'm ready to think about the cold - at least for today.
For my card, I pulled out an old favorite - Poinsettia Petals from Stampin' Up! I decided to go with a grey-green and deep purple color scheme instead the of the usual colors I use for Christmas. I die-cut a panel using my Postal Frames die from The Greetery to add a little interest. I die-cut the layers of the poinsettia and glued the middle of them and added a little fun foam to the petals to give them a little lift and dimension. I mixed the purple ink with a little water and added a few splatters to the card for additional interest.
Here's my card:
7.11 Edited to add photo! That will teach me to go out of town for a week and be on a detox from electrical devices!!! Sorry about that - I had a glitch with typepad and it didn't update the original post!
Hugs
