Balloon Bouquet for Festive Friday FF093
17 September 2021
Happy Friday.
I have some really exciting news to share. I am thrilled to be joining the very talented team across at FestiveFriday! FestiveFriday is such a unique challenge site and I have loved playing along with their varied international day themes. So, a big hug to the team for inviting me to create alongside this great group of ladies!!! One of the things I always loved about the FestiveFriday challenges is that they introduced me to celebrations I didn't know existed!
So, onto this week's challenge. Who even knew there was such a day! However, I had the PERFECT excuse to celebrate this particular day!
For my card I went with red, balloons and shiny
A lot of my Design Team cards are not made for a specific person - but this one was. It was the perfect occasion to create a card for a certain someone who has been a part of my life for many decades. A certain someone who, just a few days ago, celebrated their 5th anniversary of negative scans. For anyone who has gone through cancer - or has a loved one who has - they will know how important this 5 year anniversary is! Those 5 years seem to have gone by so slowly, and yet so quickly as we waited for the results. I wasn't able to be with this particular person in my life to celebrate this anniversary, so the chance to make a balloon card, with a ticker tape background and red/pink balloons was just the right time! This card is now winging it's way to that very special someone :-)
I began with a piece of Neenah Solar White card stock and some silver embossing powder (part of my shiny)! I then die-cut and blended two red balloons and die-cut a third in silver mirror card stock. I added some cotton to the end of each balloon and ran it under my celebratory sentiment. The sentiment was die-cut three times to add a little dimensions.
I hope you will join us and play along with our Festive Friday Balloons Around the World Challenge. The design team have some fabulous inspiration for you. You can check out their individual cards here:

On a personal note:
Well, the meds, rest and a brace, seem to be helping my hand and I am hopeful that I will get back into my craft room sometime in the next couple of weeks. It's amazing how much I miss my special time. I don't know about y'all, but crafting has helped keep me sane during this very insane period of our lives. I have no idea wheree these last 20 months or so have gone - but I know I have spent more time inside my house than I have ever done. Never mind the amount of time we have spent behind masks. Seriously, crafting has been my sanity :-) It's especially rewarding when you can make a card to celebrate such an epic occasion :-)
I will be back on Saturday with my Paper Players card. In the meantime, warm hugs and prayers for those of you who need a little lift today!
Hugs
Jaydee
