Happy Tuesday.
I have a quick post for you today featuring one of The Greetery Botanicuts dies called Tulip. I was inspired to create this card when I visited the CAS MixUp site. It's a technique challenge and one that I generally don't do too well with!
I always love the look of loose watercoloring but really battle with it. I constantly want to treat the paint on the paper like markers... so this really was tough for me! I started with a piece of Arches cold pressed water color paper and die-cut the individual elements of the tulip using the dies. I then mixed up some water colors and set to coloring the elements leaving as much to chance as I could. Oh, boy, did I want to take out that brush and move things around! I really have to stop doing that and just let the process happen! I used wet on wet technique for the colors.
I used some embossing paste and the Knitwits stencil from The Greetery to help ground the tulip and stop it from floating. Instead of black ink for the sentiment, I used a mid-tone grey.
Here's my card:
On a personal note:
Well, today is the last day of my vacation and it's back to work tomorrow. Even though I won't get into my craft room to do any playing today, I do have a card to share with you tomorrow. In the meantime, warm hugs and prayers for those of you who need a little lift tonight.
Hugs
Jaydee

I know how hard it is to give up that creative control so I feel for you wanting to pick up that brush. But the results are truly lovely. The bloom has wonderful shading and beauty. Also, the addition of the texture paste provides the ideal background. Thanks for adding your card to the CAS Mix Up.
