Happy Sunday
It's the fabulous Claire's turn to host our Paper Players challenge this week and it was a great excuse for me to bring out my old Stampin' Up! favorite - Christmas Toile. This is a classic set for me and was perfect as, during these really snowy months here in the mid-west, the Cardinals are one of the most obvious birds.
I began by ink blending a background and then pulled out my Snowflake stencil from The Greetery. I used some embossing paste to add some snowflakes. I inked and simply colored the cardinal and die-cut him and the branch he was to rest on.
Here's my card:
I hope you will join us and play along this week. We would love to see what you create. If you need some inspiration, check out tthe design team cards:
On a personal note:
It's freezing here today - again. We forgot to leave the heater on overnight and the house was down at 54 when we woke up this morning. The fact that we sleep with the windows open every night - even when it is down at -34 might have contributed to the cold :-) In reality, it's because I turned off the heating in the basement yesterday and forgot to turn it back on! So, it's thermal undergarment weather here today!
I'll be back tomorrow with another card, in the meantime, warm hugs and prayers for those of you who need a little lift tonight.
Hugs
Jaydee

I've never seen a cardinal in real life but yours is most definitely pretty as a picture Jaydee! Love the subtle detail of the stencil-embossing paste background too. Gorgeous! Stay warm, my friend!

I love birds and this one is a beauty! It's a lovely card - the inked background and embossing add such a sweet touch. The stencil is great for so many things, I love how you used it.

This beautiful cardinal reminds me of the ones I've been seeing at my feeder...they know a storm is coming, so they're stocking up! Very nicely done, and the background is extra pretty!
