Sketchbook Roses for Freshly Made Sketches

Happy Sunday

I have a quick post for you tonight.  I got to play with a brand new set called Sketchbook Roses from The Greetery.  I bought this with a gift card Lou gave me for Christmas.

I was in my craft room creating cards for the seniors and needed a little inspiration, so I popped into Freshly Made Sketches to see what they had as a sketch this week.  In fact, I made two cards with the sketch using the same set.  One of them I had to turn on the horizontal to fit the roses.

As its 6.30 pm here, I had to photograph these cards in my craft room.  I much prefer to photograph them in natural daylight - but it's too late for that:-)  So, they look a little warmer than normal :-)

Here's the first one - the more simplified version and the one that is sticking to the sketch - on the vertical:

For the first card, I wanted the image to fade into the background more, but when all out on the second card and was, once again, inspired to do a loose water color technique.  I'm getting to enjoy this!  I also paired this with the Nordic Frames die cut from The Greetery.    I popped the roses onto the base with glue only in the middle, as I wanted the edges to be free of the paper.

I added some gold and white splatters to the flower and the background and my card was complete.

Here's my second card:

I also added a little Pool Party ink to the background to anchor the flowers.  Don't you just love this gorgeous script sentiment?

I'll be back tomorrow with another card.  In the meantime, warm hugs and prayers for those of you who need a little lift tonight.

Hugs

Jaydee
