Les Jungles for Addicted to CAS #215
19 February 2022
Happy Saturday.
It's another challenge at Addicted to CAS this week and the fabulous Toni is our host. I loved her code word this week and it was a great excuse for me to bring out an oldy but goodie stamp set from Katzelkraft called Les Jungles.
Having spent over two decades in Africa, I have been incredibly lucky to see lions in their native habitat and I have to tell you, it is one of the most amazing experiences and it never got old. One of my luckiest encounters was early in the morning, before the sun had risen, there were two female lioness lying in the middle of a single track tarmac road in the middle of the game reserve. They lie there in winter as the bitumen absorbs the heat of the day and lasts through the night. We came upon them very quietly, but they saw us and decided it was time to move. We stopped the car and the two of them walked towards us. When the got to the front of the car they separated and one walked left and the other walked right. I was on the left and this majestic female walked right past my side. She was so close that she knocked the side mirror and didn't even react. Her only recognition was to stop right next to my window, turn her head and her bright amber eyes looked at me.
I swear she was looking at me - not more than 10 inches away from my face - and saying....you are SO lucky you are behind this tin can! She sauntered very slowly and her eyes locked mine as she went past. I looked into her eyes and acknowledged her majestic magnificence and she... well... she just looked at me as though I was an aging piece of meat that was best forgotten and walked on.
What was amazing for me was, when the got to the end of the car, the both came together and continued their walk down the road behind us not more than a couple of feet apart from each other and went about their day. For me... it was a moment I will never forget. They really are the most magnificent creatures.
So, this challenge was a great opportunity to pull out this fun stamp and color it with the most simple of coloring. I just love the look on this majestic male's face as the cheeky little blue-bird lands on his head! Here's my card:
I hope you will join us and play along with our challenge this week. We would love to see what you create with this code word. I'll be back tomorrow with my Paper Players card. In the meantime, warm hugs and prayers for those of you who need a little lift tonight.
Hugs
Jaydee
