Happy Sunday!
It's the fabulous LeAnne's turn to host our Paper Players challenge this week and it's sketch week. Yesterday afternoon I realized that I did not have a card for this challenge and so had to rush into my somewhat complete craft room and make a card! Luckily, I had a new die-set waiting on my craft table from Hero Arts called Flowers and Bees. I was motivated to buy this die-set when I saw this gorgeous card appear in our Paper Players challenge a couple of weeks ago! Here's LeAnne's sketch:
I dug out a very old stencil and used that for the bottom of the sketch. I blended a little bit of paler blue for the upper part of the card - but left most of that top part alone. I die-cut and colored the flowers and bees using my comic markers and prismacolor pencils. I added a couple of layers of extra die-cut behind the flowers and the bee to add a little more lift to them and added a strip of Simon says stamp grey card stock. Here's my card:
I hope you will join us and play long with LeAnne's sketch. We would love to see what you create! As always, the design team have some fabulous inspiration for you:
On a personal note:
Well, we are making progress. We are down to 4 boxes left to unpack! Quite frankly, two of them will stay packed as we just don't have room for the contents, but it's stuff that we really want to keep! So we will find a home for those two somewhere in a quiet corner! My craft room is almost complete. I had to get some new Ikea storage as my old stuff was too big for this particular room. It isn't styled yet, and it isn't quite organized the way I want it - but, hey, at least I did get to make a card today. It's lucky that I had just unpacked the box with all of my crafting tools about 20 minutes prior to realizing I didn't have a card for this week!
And... I also found my camera! Yay... so, I am hoping that some birdies will come and visit the new feeder we it up so that I can get some photos. We are loving the new space and the cats love having the trees so close to the window as they can easily see all the comings and goings from the comfort of their day bed! We are also loving the smaller size and find that we are much more relaxed now that we don't have to worry about all the things that needed doing in the house. Talking about the house it's styled, staged and ready to go on the market. The photographer came and took some phenomenal photos for the listing. He really did a good job! So, hopefully we can get that sold quickly!
Today, is sorting and labeling in my craft room and I am hoping that I will be able to get in there and play along with some challenges. I will be back on Friday with my Festive Friday card, but hope to pop in during the week - maybe with some photos if the birds play nice! In the meantime, warm hugs and prayers for those of you who need a little lift tonight.
Hugs
Jaydee

What a gorgeous card, Jaydee! I love how you used the flowers and bee for the three elements on the sketch. And hooray for getting your craft room unpacked! It always takes me a while to get things reorganized when we move, and my craft room is always the second room to get unpacked after the kitchen. Priorities! ;) I'm sure it will all get organized and start feeling like home soon!

Jaydee, so happy to hear you are finding your "things" and have a good start on your craft room organization. I am certain it feels more like home now! Your card is so sweet! I love the beautiful flowers and the bee is so realistic1 The stencil is just perfect to ground your elements! Have a great week!

Jaydee, cute card! Love that stencilling on the bottom! When we moved three years ago I made my craft area top priority, so I'm with you, lol! Have a great week!

I do like your card, the simplicity of it. I've been thinking of you with the awful weather in your new area. Glad you can create. Hugs to you.

I love your pretty card, Jaydee! I'm sure it is comforting to get your craft room settled so you can make cards, which is always calming for me. Enjoy your day!

I am impressed with your card considering your recent move! Of course, the craft room would be the first thing I would unpack too!! Beautiful card...you know I love my bees! Thanks for making my sketch look great!
