Happy Memorial Day and thank you to all of those who have served and paid the ultimate price to protect their loved ones and their country. When I began my genealogy journey 20 years ago I was very aware that my father and my uncles Jim and Jack both served in World War 2. All of them returned from battle, although none were the same when they returned. However, they all did return to their families. I was not aware of any other members of my family who had served in World War I or World War 2 - never... Read more →

Happy Sunday. It's the fabulous Ann's turn to host our Paper Players challenge this week - and it's tic tac toe week. I decided to use a new set for this card - Mimosa Musings from The Greetery. I paired it with an old Tim Holtz stencil and a sentiment from the Birthday Blooms set - also from the Greetery. Here is Ann's tic tac toe board: I went with birthday, floral and circle! I began by stenciling the circle pattern on to my base to help anchor the florals. I then stamped and die-cut the Mimosa flowers and did... Read more →

Happy Saturday. It's the fabulous Nancy's turn to host our Addicted to CAS challenge this week and this is her code word: Yesterday I went to the admin blog and realized that instead of being ahead with my challenges, I was now behind! So, I had to quickly make a card for the challenge and really couldn't make up my mind what to do. Happy Friday. It's another INSPO challenge across at FestiveFriday and it's another great day to celebrate - Friends Day! This challenge inspired me to create a card for my bestie. Pammie and I used to go for walks through the park when we were young kids and sometimes we were accompanied by her dad's dog, Trudy. So, I used Hand in Hand from The Greetery and the Fir & Foliage stencils to create my card. Don't forget - you don't necessarily have to follow the theme - you just need to make a project featuring 3 of the words from... Read more →

Happy Sunday! It's the fabulous LeAnne's turn to host our Paper Players challenge this week and it's sketch week. Yesterday afternoon I realized that I did not have a card for this challenge and so had to rush into my somewhat complete craft room and make a card! Luckily, I had a new die-set waiting on my craft table from Hero Arts called Flowers and Bees. I was motivated to buy this die-set when I saw this gorgeous card appear in our Paper Players challenge a couple of weeks ago! Here's LeAnne's sketch: I dug out a very old stencil... Read more →
