Oopsie Daisy for Paper Players #590

Robin and Wren and Spring Findings for Paper Players 589

Happy Sunday.

It's my turn to host our Paper Players challenge this week and it's theme week.  The theme I choose was a perfect excuse to ink up by beloved Robin and Wren set from the Greetery and add a little bird nest from the new Spring Findings die cut - also from the Greetery.  Here's our challenge:

I began by stamping and die-cutting my little robin and then die-cut and blended browns onto the nest.  I choose my favorite stencil - Knit Wits - to add background to my scene.  All I needed to do was to stamp Happy Birthday, die-cut and color some eggs and the card was ready.   Sadly, we won't get to see the robins nesting in our wreath on the front doors this year.  We decided not to put up the wreaths as the house will be on show, and I didn't want to stress the robins with the comings and goings of prospective buyers.  However, we have loved watching them hatch through the glass door panel for the last couple of years and this card was in honor of those little babies that took their first flight from our wreath!

Here's my card:

Looking at the card, I realize that I didn't add some brown speckles to the eggs!  Oh, well, too late now :-)   I hope you will join us and play along with our challenge.  We really would love to see what you create with this theme.  As always, the design team have some fabulous inspiration for you:

On a personal note:

Well, the last week has been stressful to say the least!  Trying to organize a move and purge the house and pack all in a couple of weeks ..... but, most of that is behind us now.  The house is almost ready for sale... but not quite.  The flat has all the contents we moved, but not much is in the places it should be going in.  Right now, we just don't have the storage to unpack everything.  However, there are two fabulous cupboards in the entry way that we will convert into a pantry and storage area, but we are waiting for the units to come from Ikea, so for now..... we still have lots of boxes we can't unpack.

Last night Lou and I decided to have dinner and celebrate with some wine and beer.  Great idea!  MMMMM.... where's the corkscrew and the bottle opener?   NO IDEA!  Luckily the wine bottle had a screw top, so I was good.  Lou tried everything to get the cap of his beer  - but no luck!  Then we went to cook dinner - and couldn't find the can opener for the coconut milk for Thai curry!  So, first things today - find the kitchen implements that are missing!   I can't unpack my craft room as my new storage cupboard only arrives on Friday!

I'll be back later in the week.  In the meantime, warm hugs and prayers for those of you who need a little lift tonight.

Hugs

Jaydee

Jaydee, fun theme this week! Your card is too cute! Love the die cut bird, nest and egg. Have a great week!

This is just too sweet!! I love the stenciled background too.

kind of exciting to move but challenging at times too. Ikea is so hard to get. Delivery is crazy expensive for us, and waiting until items are in stock was challenging at this distance. But I managed to find things I wanted for my craftroom, or items that would work instead, and able to have brent pick them up using that 24 hour order deal. He was going to be in the cities so it worked well, no extra trips. Now to put them together come June...lol...yikes..I see there are lots of u tube videos on it anyway!

I'll have to remember to have a box of items we may need right away...lol!

I'm sure your robin is no substitute for seeing them nesting in your door wreath Jaydee, but she is adorable nonetheless! Love that your stencil even works as a background here - so versatile! Sounds like things are moving at pace with the move, even if you are surrounded by boxes and can't find anything. You will get there and it will be worth it!

Hugs to you with all the stress of moving. Hope this week goes well for you two. Love your birdie card!

Aw, such a sweet little mama robin with her eggs! I haven't seen any nests around our property yet...but the oriole and rose-breasted grosbeaks were here today! Lovely challenge!

Jaydee, been there done that. We have been married almost 54 years. With going to college and lots of moves with that we have moved 16 times. I did not have stamping stuff back then but have moved it now 3 times. Our children say they will box it up and throw it away. I also informed them that I will haunt them. Enjoy getting ready for your new adventure. By the way, the card is darling!!!!!

This card is just too cute and I love the stenciling in the background. I also enjoyed the story behind the reason to make it! I'm sure those birds will miss you too when you move, but I don't envy you moving! We've done that 5 times and don't plan on ever doing it again! LOL

What a sweet backstory for your lovely card, Jaydee! I love the die cut bird and nest, with the perfect little eggs. I can see why this stencil is your favorite. It is so versatile.

Jaydee, thanks for a great challenge this week! Your card is sweet and so is the memory of the baby robins. I love the knit wits stencil you used, it's a perfect background!
Hope the moving will get easier after you find the kitchen things and bottle opener. Been there! Hugs
