Happy Sunday.
It's my turn to host our Paper Players challenge this week and it's Clean and Simple week. I used my Sketchbook Roses set from The Greetery for this challenge - here's a sneak peek:
I had fun with my watercolors for this card. I'm trying really hard to not control the paint and just let it be. I have a long way to go... but did do better this time :-)
Here's our challenge this week:
It's hard to see, but I did do some splatters of gold, blue and green watercolor paint to add just a little more interest. I used standard 110# card stock and a very light wash of watercolors. I hope you will join us and play along this week.
As I said, the design team did amazing things this week and their work is proof that one layer does not have to be boring. I hope you will stop by their blogs and give them a little love.
On a personal note:
I am spending time in my craft room creating cards for Send a Smike 4 Kids. I'm making Halloween and fall cards which, considering it's almost 100 degrees and humid, feels a little ... well.... strange! I am still not quite finished setting up my craft room. There is currently no art work on the walls as it is still at the house and I realize that I need that color and inspiration around me when I'm crafting.
We are due to close on the house on July 1st and have had people in and out of the house for the last few days buying all the things that we couldn't take with us. It feels so strange having people wander around the house picking and choosing items and then walking out of the door with them, but we are so grateful that almost everything has gone and we will have very little to sort out at the end of it. One of our neighbors (our realtor's mom who lives across the road from us) has been amazing. She has called in all her friends and family and done an amazing job of helping us and I'm happy that the things that I so carefully curated are going to new homes where they will be enjoyed!
I'll be back later in the week with another card. In the meantime, Happy Father's Day and warm hugs and prayers for those of you who need a little lift tonight.
Hugs
Jaydee

Jaydee, I have to tell you, when I saw your challenge I contemplated taking a vacation to a VERY remote island this week. Haha! I really had fun with it though! Your card is just stunning with the mix of soft colors and subtle details. One layer wonder, indeed!

Loose watercolouring is so much harder than it looks, but this is just lovely Jaydee - perfect for an OLC. Such a fun challenge this week!

Your card looks great, Jaydee! I, too, tend to overthink things when I try watercoloring, but your roses look fabulous. Thanks for a fun challenge this week!
