Jumbo Curiosity Moth for Paper Players #604

Happy Sunday.

It's the fabulous Anne Marie's turn to host our Paper Players challenge this week and it's color week!  For my card, I die-cut and inked up the new Jumbo Curiosity Moth die and I loved it!

For my pop of color I went with a couple of shades of red.  I went looking on google for some interesting colored moths and came across this guy:

Now, I couldn't get all of those gorgeous colors included, but I took the reds and went with that.  I added a piece of patterned paper I got as part of a set from The Stamp Market for the base of the card.  I die-cut the focal layer and decided it needed something to tie it to the bottom layer - so I took out my Simon Says Stamp snow stencil and used that to echo the dots from the base layer.   I die-cut and stenciled the moth and then popped it onto the card.  i think you can probably see where the inspiration came from :-)

And here's my card:

I love this postal frames die from The Greetery.  I love the stitching with the scalloped panel and I think this patterned paper will get more love, too!  As for the jumbo moth - LOVE IT!

I hope you will join us and play along with Anne Marie's color challenge.  We would love to see what color YOU choose as your pop of color.

As always, the design team have some fabulous inspiration for you:

On a personal note:

Well, I finished up the baby cards for the NICU and am ready to send them off on Monday.  I'll pop in with a few peeks at some of them.  I managed to pick up some fabulous polka dot envelopes on Amazon and thing they work perfectly for the baby cards.  Oh, who am I kidding?  Polka dot envelopes are perfect for just about ANY card :-)

I watched the sun set over the woodland and was amazed by the amazing glow of it.

We are so lucky that we found this apartment with all of these trees and the cats love them as the balcony is at tree height and they can watch the birds from the comfort of their cushions!

I also caught a shot of a chickadee and a sparrow on the arm of the hummingbird feeder pole on a near cloudless day!

That's all from me today.  Warm hugs and prayers for those of you who need a little lift.

Card recipe:

  • Dies:  Jumbo Curiosity Moth - die and stencil - The Greetery

Jaydee, thanks for sharing the views you have. I miss my Minnesota so much some days. I am amazed that there is still places that you can have this kind of privacy without lots of housing developments. Love the moth card. You did a great job on the colors.

Jennie Maier

Jaydee, my favorite-red-looks great on your moth! Love the little polka dots too! Have a great week!
