Notes to Say Meets Boho Borders for CAS on Friday #239 & Time Out 222

Hi Everyone.

Happy Saturday.  It's been ages since I have had the chance to play along with a challenge just for the fun of it.  I saw a great challenge across at CAS on Friday and Time Out realized it was the perfect challenge to utilize two pretty recent items I got from The Stamp Market.  A stamp set called Notes to Say and a set of dies called Boho Borders.  Here's a sneak peek of those cool stripes:

Here are the two challenge badges:

I began by die-cutting the thin stripes from 4 different colors of SU card stock.  As the strips are pretty tiny, I decided to adhere them to a piece of white cardstock and then cut that down to the size that I wanted.

I then stamped and die-cut the focal layer with my MFT stitched rectangles and did the same with the hello sentiment.  This card came together really quickly.   I popped the sentiment up with some foam squares that I cut into very thin strips!  Here's my full card:

I just love that big, bold sentiment paired with the thin strips.  You can check out the design team and submission cards at CAS on Friday

On a personal note:

Well, everything is set up in my room as well as it can be and it now houses an early anniversary gift from Lou - a Gemini junior.  He'd gotten tired of hearing me moan and groan every time I tried to run something through my Spellbinders and told me it was time I gave my arthritic hands a break :-). I must admit, I love my Spellbinders, but the intricate die cuts are handled expertly bu the gemini!  So far I am impressed.  I also got some gouache paints as a little present.  WOW.  I am so impressed by them.  I love watercolor but always want to over control it and I can't get layering right at all.  Gouache fixes all of those issues, so I am spending some time getting to know them and how they work before I start to use them on cards.  There's certainly a learning curve but I love the way you can layer lights over darks.  Amazing.

I'll be back tomorrow with another card.  In the meantime, warm hugs and prayers for those of you who need a little lift tonight.

Hugs

Jaydee
