Party Animals for Festive Friday #0122

Happy Friday.  It's another INSPO day at FestiveFriday and I decided to go with the theme and it was the perfect excuse to ink up one of the stamps from My Favorite Things called Party Animals.  I had such fun coloring this guy.  However, I must admit, when I first looked at I was confused as to HOW I was going to color it!

Here's a sneak peek:

And here is our INSPO list and theme for this challenge:

I chose:   cupcake, birthday sentiment, embossing paste

So, before I show you my card.  I have to tell you about the inspiration.    I am a complete and utter Nick Parks fan.  He's the creator of Wallace and Grommit.  I mean, who doesn't love a little Wallace and Grommit?  Nick and his studio also made a couple of other films that I love .. Chicken Run, Shaun the Sheep, etc.  BUT... he also made a film which is just a classic called Creature Comforts.  You can see it here.  Well, once you have seen this short, you will know why I created this poor lion in a cage:-)  Creature Comforts is so well done and I love how the voices were chosen to match the creatures so well and the droll delivery of the voice over!

Anyway, so now you know the background - you have probably guessed that I have a lion, a cupcake and there is a brick wall involved!  I thought the comical, whimsical take on the illustration of the lion, deserved some texture and more coloring than I would normally do!

Here's my card:

And, can we talk about that little red polka dot hat :-)   I hope you will join us and play along with our challenge.  You only have to choose 3 words from the INSPO list.  As you can see from the cards from our design team, you don't even have to follow the theme.  That's why I love the FestiveFriday challenge - so many different takes on the same set of inspiration!  talking about inspiration - please check out the projects from our fabulous design team:
