Happy Friday and welcome to the first of our Festive Friday challenges. Festive Friday is a card making and paper crafting challenge and every two weeks we release a new INSPO list for you. Each challenge has a theme but you don't have to follow the theme - all you need to do is choose three words from the INSPO list and use those elements on your paper craft project.
For our challenge this week I pulled out two older sets from The Greetery called Flower Market Bouquet and Put a Bow on It! Here's a sneak peek and I think you can tell that one of the words from the INSPO list that I used was RED :-)
Here are our inspiration words for this challenge - and our theme is Chinese New Year!
Oh, I was so tempted to pull out one of my Greetery sets that has an envelope on it, but for some reason, I got to thinking about spring and tulips! So, I had to follow that thought and the Flower Market Bouquet set was the perfect foil for a bunch of red tulips. But, that wasn't quite enough red :-) I decided it needed a big red bow, too. Now, because I wasn't standing in the patience line when God was giving out qualities..... I had to make this bow 4 times!!!! Just. because. I. was. too. impatient. to. wait. for. the. ink. to. dry!!!! Yep, it would have been much faster if I had just waited - anyway, I got it done in the end!
I have used this set before but on a white background. I decided to do something totally different and use a textured black background. Yep. me using a black background?! The flu I am still dealing with must have done something to my crafting brain!
Here's my card:
Isn't that bow just something? I love it and I love how the sentiments are all designed to fit on that tail. Well, I wasn't the only design team member that focused on red this week. You HAVE to check out the design team cards - they are all GORGEOUS. When I went to load my card this afternoon, my jaw dropped when I saw the DT cards. You can check them out at their blogs at the links below.
I'll be back tomorrow with another card. In the meantime. Warm hugs and prayers for those of you who need a lift tonight.
