Mix Tape and Mix Tape Messages for Paper Players #626
05 February 2023
Happy Sunday.
It's the fabulous LeAnne's turn to host our Paper Players challenge this week and it's theme week. This week's theme was perfect to use a new card kit I got from MFT called Mixed Tape. This set just makes me laugh - especially the messages in the Mix Tape Messages. It comes with Cassette Tape Dynamics, Take Shape and Mixtape Sentiments. Anyone who grew up with cassette tapes knows all about the only thing that really worked to help unravel them was a pencil! Here's a sneak peek:
I love the tape - such a great detail! Some black vellum was included in the card kit and it's perfect for the tape! I made this card for a friend at work who has been incredibly supportive on the days when things are insane at work - and last week it was my turn to reciprocate - and this sentiment will make him laugh - especially as he was a radio DJ back in the day!
Here's LeAnne's challenge:
I hope you will join us and play along with LeAnne's challenge this week. We would love to see what you create with LeAnne's challenge. As always, the design team have some fabulous inspiration to share.
On a personal note:
Lou and I are on the move again. Our lease on the apartment is coming up for renewal and we decided to have a quick look around before we re-signed the lease. We were so lucky to find our current apartment when we needed it and I will miss the trees right outside our window, but there are things about the apartment that don't quite work for us. We have found a new apartment about 2 miles away. We won't have the trees right outside the window, but we will get both sunrises and sunsets from the apartment and the kitchen makes me want to cook again :-) I have to admit, I am not looking forward to packing again, but it is another good excuse for a little clean out:-)
Warm hugs and prayers for those of you who need a little lift today.
Hugs
Jaydee
Card recipe:

Such a brilliant card Jaydee with that perfect sentiment! Love the cassette and who doesn't remember the pencil when the tape got mixed up!! Best wishes with the move. What a wonderful opportunity you will have to clear out a little and it sounds as if you have thought things through and will be adding good things to your lives! Vicky x

My 80's child is totally vibing on this card, Jaydee! So much fun! Sorry that you are having to move again. It's so much work, but a good kitchen is worth the work. Sending a big hug your way!

Jaydee, What a great card! all of us, over a certain age have memories of winding our tapes with a pencil. Good luck with your move.

Jaydee, this is so fun! I wonder if young kids even know about tapes. LOL! I love that sentiment and laughed when I read it. You have to be a certain age to appreciate this one! SO sorry you have to pack again, but I hope you will love your new home!!!!!!! I wish you would help me downsize! Have a great weekend, My Friend!

Great card, Jaydee! It sent me down a nostalgic path thinking about the iconic images of vinyl records, cassette tapes, and discs. What images will we be using in the future for all of our digital music sources? Anyway, love the black and white and bright yellow of your card! And good luck with your new digs. It's always exciting to move to a new location, but UGH! the work.

I am having a serious 80's flashback with this card Jaydee!! I had a white Walkman and yes a pencil was always to hand! A fabulous card!!! Yay on the new apartment - moving will be easier this time I'm sure.

Fun card, I remember tapes too. Best of luck with the move; I've been wondering how you two are. A lot of windows in your new place sounds wonderful. Hugs.

This card put a smile on my face right away. What a clever interpretation of the theme. Very, very nice , Jaydee.
Good luck with your packing and moving. After accumulating “ stuff” living here for 35 years, it’s too daunting a task to pitch and it’s preventing us from downsizing 😄.

Good luck!!! If a little clean out means getting rid of some scrapbooking items, I am a "taker".

I just love this card! Having grown up with tapes, I can totally relate to that sentiment! Fun way to use my theme! Good luck on the move again...you're getting to be pros at it!
