Heaven & Nature Sing for Festive Friday #ff0128
Box of Chocolates for Paper Players #629

The Whole Herd for Paper Players #628

Happy Sunday.

It's the fabulous Claire's turn to host our Paper Players challenge this week and it's theme week!  Now, I cannot believe but I didn't have a stamp that tied directly to the theme.  How can that be?  How can I have all these stamps and not have a sentiment that fits the theme?!!!!  Luckily, I found one that worked in a new set that I received from some stmaps I bought on saale from MFT.  The set is called the Whlole Herd and it has a punny/funny sentiment that works.

This card forced me to do something I never feel comfortable doing - creating a scene.  No, not the kind of scene that gets you kicked out of shopping malls or taken off a plane in handcuffs... mind you, I wouldn't be comfortable making that kind of scene either :-)   Here's a sneak peek:

And here is Claire's challenge:

I stamped and die-cut the elements for my scene and then used my blending brushes and cloud stencil to create the sky and grassy area for my animals.  I arranged them and popped some of the elements off the base using foam dots and added my sentiment.

Here's my punny/funny get well card!

I hope you will join us and play along with Claire's challenge this week.  We would love to see your Get Well creations.  As always, the design team have some fabulous inspiration for you:

On a personal note:

Well, I can officially say we have packed a total of......... 2 whole boxes!  The great thing about packing is that you find things you have been looking for!  I bought some soft stone cardstock from Papertrey Ink months ago and haven't been able to find it!  Well, I found it today whilst packing up some card stock! :-)  I must admit, I am glad I am not having to move the boxes from my craft room.  It's amazing how much paper weighs.  I will be slowly packing up my craft room starting with the things that I don't use very often.  My stamps, inks and dies will be the last along with my die-cutting machines.  I'm hoping to leave those until the last weekend.

The one thing we are running up against... space - or lack thereof - in which we can stack up the packed boxes.  So far we haven't had a lot to take to our local Saver's, but we will do a thorough touch of everything before it gets packed in a box for moving.  it's always so tough letting go of something that I purchased and treasured but truly believe in if one thing comes in, one thing must go out.    It is so tough making that decision.  Even with my stamping supplies.  If I haven't used something in the last 15-18 months, I send it to Saver's and hope that someone else will find them and give them a loving home and create something that will make someone smile.   At least that is what I tell myself as it helps me to part with them :-)

When we made the move here after selling our house, we knew this would be a short term move and knew that we would have to permanently downsize - that really was a forcing factor to sort out donations and items for sale.  It wasn't easy, but most of the stuff we know went to someone who is now appreciating it.

We have just over 3 weeks until moving day and we are hoping to be unpacked and settled in for my birthday, where I am hoping to cook a nice meal in the new kitchen :-)

Warm hugs and prayers for those of you who need a little lift tonight.

Hug

Oh my gosh! I love this card! You did a great job creating a scene for your barnyard crew! I think punny is always funny! Good luck with the pack up and moving, too!

This card is just as cute as can be, Jaydee! What a wonderful way to cheer up someone who is under the weather! Good luck with the packing. Downsizing can be so freeing on so many levels. Have a wonderful week!

Thanks, Ann. It really is a cute set :-) And yes, as hard as it is, downsizing really did feel good -at the end of it :-) Then we were left with things that we enjoy. Giving up the snowblower and the lawnmower - knowing that someone else was now going to take care of all of that - felt especially freeing!!!

Jaydee, I am not good at parting with "stuff" but, oh do I need a lesson from you. It is so difficult! Best wishes in your moving experience and I hope your new place will bring you much happiness.
Your card made me smile! The scene you created reminded me of my childhood farm days. Those clouds are so pretty and those animals are just too fun! Your sentiment is so funny and perfect to brighten someone's day! Thanks my making my challenge shine! Have a great week, My Friend!

Such a fun card, Jaydee! The sentiment just made me smile and the expression on the pigs face is priceless. Thinking of you as you pack and get ready to move. It is so much work and just goes by so quickly. Downsizing is a good thing...I've been learning that myself over the past couple years. We all just have so much "stuff" and letting go is a good feeling. Hope you have a great week! Hugs!

I am challenged by making scenes too, but this sweet little trio looks happy enough to cheer anyone up!

Jaydee, Your card is egg-cellent. I am a big fan of word play and those critters are the best. I love the pig's expression. The fluffy clouds and rolling hills make a great backdrop. Suzy

Hello, Jaydee. I'm very impressed with your blended clouds and the blending of green toward the bottom of this cute card! I honestly don't know how you're managing to turn out these cards while packing for a big move. We've been in our house for 38 years and if I had to move anytime soon, I think I would just sit down and cry! And yet, here you are smiling and making wonderful cards!
Xoxo, Fran

Well this little scene is just adorable Jaydee - and of course that sentiment made me smile! I am following the packing story with interest and think I definitely need to take a leaf out of your book - especially where my craft room is concerned. I feel some days like I'm drowning - time is my enemy at the moment though, so instead I will just be inspired as I read about your good discipline!
