Die Cuts and Scraps for Paper Players #631

Happy Sunday.

It's the fabulous Leanne's turn to host our Paper Players challenge this week and she has a bright and cheerful color scheme for us.  I had originally thought that I would do florals using these colors, but, for some reason, my mind went in a totally different direction!  I settled on a die from the Die Cuts and Scraps Dienamics set from My Favorite Things.  Here's a sneak peek:

Well, I suppose there is a flower on the cupcakes - but not quite a floral card!  I think you may have guessed some of the colors from the sneak peek - but herer is the full color list from LeAnne's challenge:

I began by die-cutting and then coloring each of the elements and then put them together.   I used my favorite background stencil from The Greetery called KnitWits to create the background and to help anchor the cupcakes.  I popped each of them off the card front with foam dots and then added the little flowers as an emellishment.

Here's my full card:

I hope you will join us and play along with LeAnne's challenge.   We would love to see what you create.  As always, the design team have some fabulous inspiration for you:

On a personal note:

Well, we have just a few days before the move and packing is very much in full swing.  At this point I wish I could either do a Samantha from Bewitched and wiggle my nose, or wave my magic wand a la Merlin in Sword and the Stone, oh and get myself a Tardis and travel forward in time until Monday or Tuesday a week from now.   That way we would have finished everything, moved and, hopefully, be unpacked and settled in!  I think you must have gathered by now, that I am ready for this move to be over :-)  We are just about all packed up from a box perspective.  We maybe have 5 or 6 left.  Now it's breaking down the flatpack cupboards we purchased from Ikea for my craft room and the storage for the cupboard we turned into a pantry/storage area,  Luckily we are only moving a couple of miles away which means that anything that is left, like the art work, can easily be transported once the move is complete.  All that will be left to do in the old flat is give it a good old clean and say goodbye.

We will miss the trees outside of our window and the feathered visitors.  We will also miss hearing the Canadian Geese squabble all through the night as they try to find places on the river that are not frozen right outside our window.  We really have enjoyed those things.  Our views from Thursday will be much more urban and, being 9 stories higher than we are now, will give us much more open sky views and, therefore much more light.  I must admit.... the height does give me some qualms, especially when I went out onto the balcony.  5 stories is too high for me, so 14 is going to take some getting used to!!!!

As my craft room is all packed away, I won't be able to do any crafting until about two weeks from now.  I did manage to make my cards for upcoming challenges in the next two weeks, so I will be back on Friday for our Festive Friday challenge.  In the meantime, warm hugs and prayers for those of you who need a little lift tonight.

Hugs

Jaydee

Jaydee, your card is a treat for the senses! I absolutely LOVE it. If I received this card, it would be framed! Good luck on the rest of your move. While the view from the 14th floor would be amazing, it would definitely take me time to adjust to it. Hugs!

Oh my goodness, these nine tiny cupcakes just made me smile! Love how you used the challenge colors and the layout is fabulous. I'll be keeping you in my thoughts with the upcoming move, my friend. It's always so much work but so worth it once once you are settled. Sending the biggest hug your way! :)

Why have one cupcake when you can have nine, right?! These definitely look good enough to eat Jaydee and I love what you did with the background too. Wishing you all the best with your move!

Jaydee, I love this card - from the postage stamp border die to the individual embellished cupcakes to the stenciled background! It's perfect for LeAnne's challenge.

Jaydee, you are so amazing to move twice in a year. I would love to move to the country but packing 55 years of married life and my craft room would not be fun. We moved from Minnesota back to Iowa in 2004 and then moved again in 2007 to a different town and we moved again in the same town in 2008. My craft room has grown since then and I hate the thought of packing it all up. The cupcake card is so cute. The little flower is a cute touch. Enjoy your new home.

Good Luck with your move!!!

I love what you did with my colors---what sweet treats, and decorated so beautifully too! The background is just as fun! Good luck with the move!
