Baby Face Elephant Dies for Paper Players #634

Happy Sunday

it's my turn to host our Paper Players challenge this week and it's theme week.  I chose a theme very dear to my heart.  It was also the perfet excuse to ink up some new dies that I got from the latest Greetery release called Baby Face.  In this case I used the Elephant Dies.  This card will be going off to a hospital neo-natal clinic :-)

Here's a sneak peek of my card:

I know... pink elephants.... but they are cute :-)

Here's the challenge badge for this week:

I have so many animal stamps and yes, @jeanne I did think about cats!!! But decided to go with this baby card instead:-)  I die-cut and ink blended the elephants and used my favorite stencil from The Greetery - Knit Wits to add some hearts to anchor the elephants.  Before I added the hearts, I did some ink blending to add a little depth and then stenciled the hearts over the top.  I used a heart left over from a previous challenge and colored that with pink glitter pen.  All that was left to do was to add the sentiment and then assemble the card.

Here's my card:

Aren't they cute?  I used my Postal Frames dies to add a little interest to the layers.  I adhered the mamma elephant to the card base and popped up the baby with foam dots.  I also added 3 pieces of cardstock underneath the two frames to add a little more dimension.  I've stopped using fun foam as it just doesn't seem to last the distance for the cards.  So, I have not started using 80# cardstock instead and much prefer it.

I hope you will join us and play along with our challenge this week.  We would love to see what you create.  As always, the design team have some fabulous inspiration for you.

On a personal note:

Well, we have finally moved out of the old flat.  On Friday we went and did a final clean and handed over the keys.  We have unpacked all except 2 boxes at the new flat and almost everything is in its place.  I also managed to get into my craft area to make 2 cards yesterday!

We woke yesterday morning to about 5" of snow and, because it was the wet and sticky kind, the world looked beautiful.

Early in the morning, the skies were dull and cloudy and the houses below us looked like Monopoly houses dressed for a winter scene.

A couple of hours later, the sky was a bright blue and the sun was shining.  The snow was still sticking around as the temps were only in the mid-20s.  It looked so pretty for most of the day.

It does feel strange being so far up - but we are absolutely loving all the windows and being able to watch the weather come in and the sun rise and set.  We've been lucky to have a little flock of House Finch visting our balcony and singing up a storm.  They come for about 30 minutes and then leave again.  Even though we are on the 14th floor, we will put out the humming bird feeders at the beginning of May in the hope that we can give them a little respite and feeding place on their migration.

I'm off to go and play in my craft room and catch up on cards for upcoming challenges.  In the meantime, warm hugs and prayers for those of you who need a little lift tonight.

Hugs

Jaydee
