Baby Face Sweet Pea for Paper Players

Happy Sunday.

It's the fabulous Joanne's turn to host our Paper Players challenge this week and it's clean and simple week.  For my card today, I used another die in the Baby Face collection from The Greetery.  This one is called Sweet Pea.  You've seen me use the elephant here, the lamb here and the bees here and here.  Today it's the sweet pea.  Here's a sneak peek:

I love that the little peas can be stamped with the little faces and then slipped into their pod:-)  So cute!

Anyway, here's Joanne's challenge - and it's a unique take on clean and simple:

For my one image, I used the Sweet Pea die-cut from Neenah Solar White 110# card stock.  They were colored using Copic markers.  I added the little faces and some shading and built out the pea pod.  I then blended a little ink and added some splatters to the background.   The sentiment is from the Baby Face Sentiments set.  It's actually meant for a different die, but I thought the "sprout" still worked for the peas :-)

Here's my full card:

I used one of my favorite frame dies - Postal Frame - from The Greetery as the base for my focal point.  I hope you will join us and play along with Joanne's theme.  We would love to see what you create.  As always, the design team have some fabulous inspiration for you:

On a personal note:

AH.  Finally Spring has arrived.  The sun is warm on the balcony and were were finally able to visit the nursery and buy a couple of plants.  The balconies look a little bare right now, but at least we do have something to sit on so can go outside and enjoy the sun, get our daily dose of vitamin D and enjoy the views.  It was a little tough enjoying the views the other morning though!  I know I've been talking about how we love watching the weather roll in - but this was a little ridiculous :-)

This was the view from the bathroom.  Errrrrr... pea souper anyone :-)  Oh.. appropriate for this post! :-)

Yep.... NOTHING.   We couldn't see anything out of the window!  But the sun soon came out and the fog faded and it ended up being a beautiful day.

I haven't spent much time in my craft room during the last two weeks.  I've been doing all sorts of things, not least of which is getting stuck into some genealogy.  It's a great - and enlightening - hobby.  But... you can sit down and suddenly realize you have been going down rabbit holes for 6 hours!  So, I'm hoping to take a break from some research and do some crafting over the next couple of days.

I'll be back later in the week with another card.  In the meantime, warm hugs and prayers to those of you who need a little lift tonight.

Hugs

Jaydee

Oh my Jaydee - those little peas in a pod are the absolute cutest - especially with their smiling faces! The sentiment pairs perfectly and I love the subtle blue shading behind that highlights your focal image perfectly - a fabulous card for my challenge theme this week!

Jaydee, those peas are adorable. I love their little faces, such personality. I love the blending in the background and the splatters to keep it CAS.

Cutest peas ever, Jaydee! Their little faces crack me up. I love how they slip into the die cut pod. The shading and speckles are the perfect backdrop. A wonderful clean and simple card!

Jaydee, this is the cutest card! I really like how you set off your single image with the very subtle background blending. That's a great die set - I wish it had been around when my twin grandchildren were born. My daughter-in-law's sister and I used "two peas in a pod" imagery for her shower.

What a hap-PEA card, Jaydee! I love the mix of expressions on those little ones. Too cute! I have been very interested in exploring genealogy as well but have heard it is very consuming...albeit incredibly interesting. Can't wait to hear how your journey goes!
