Spring Meadow Stencil for Paper Players #640

Happy Sunday.

It's my turn to host our Paper Players challenge this week and it's color week.  The colors I chose can be either really hot, bright shades, or very subtle shades.  I went with the latter.  It was the perfect excuse to bring out my Spring Meadow Stencil and die from The Greetery.  Here's a sneak peek:

Can you see the little flowers in the centers of the die-cut flowers?  They are adorable.  They also come from The Greetery and are called Flower Bits!  In case you hadn't guessed it PINK.... yes... that would be PINK.... has made it into the challenge.   Don't ask?!  Pink.  AGAIN.  Me?!  I think I've used more pink in challenge cards in the last few weeks than I have since I started making cards!

Here's the full color challenge:

As you can see, I went with the softer shades of pink and green.  I added both grey and silver.   I used silver for the sentiment and grey for the base of the card.  For the base of the card I used Soft Stone from Papertrey Ink.  It's one of my favorite - almost not quite grey greys.

I used the 6 layer stencil to create the bouquet of flowers and then die cut the bouquet with the matching die.  The sentiment is from the New Day sentiments set - also from the Greetery.   I adhered the bouquet to the card base and then added the little Flower Bits to the centers using glue.   In case you are wondering where the white is?  The stencil was placed onto white card stock.  In real life you can see the difference between the white around the flowers and the soft stone of the base.   To finish off the base and flowers, I also added some splatters in silver, grey and black.

I hope you will join us and play along with our challenge this week.   We would love to see what YOU create with these colors.   As always the design team have some fabulous inspiration for you - from bold and graphic, to soft and subtle.  I hope you check out their creations.

On a personal note:

Well, it's hard to believe but within a week the trees are in full bloom and the view from our windows changed to a fabulous sea of green.  I was sitting out on one of the balconies earlier this week catching a few rays and was visited by a House Finch singing up a storm.  They really do have the prettiest song.  He stayed for a little while and then his girlfriend turned up and they left.

Even though we know we won't get many birds this high up, it's nice to know that we do get these little guys visiting us.  Oh... and the cats love them, too!

I've thoroughly enjoyed my first week off.  Although I haven't gotten much card making done, I have managed to relax and do a few things around the house.  We have had rain for the last 3 days so it has really felt like Spring.  All Mother Nature needed was a couple of warmish days and some rain to turn the trees green and let us know that Summer will soon be here :-)

I'm hoping to get into my craft space and play around this week.  If I do, then I will be back during the week with some cards.  In the meantime, warm hugs and prayers for those of you who need a little lift tonight.

Hugs

Jaydee

Jaydee, I absolutely LOVE this color palette! I will admit I was surprised to see you pick pink. This stencil set is amazing! I can not get over all the detail! The little tiny flowers inside the larger flowers are precious! The shades of green and pink are lovely! The splatters add so much detail, too! Such a sweet sentiment. Just perfect! Glad to see all those green trees and that little visitor is the sweetest. Have a great rest of the week, My Friend!

I really like pink now, but hated it in the 70's. A beautiful card today... see you can do pink! Sending a smile and a hug.

Your color choice was lovely, if a wee bit challenging, but I think you have finally turned the corner on your hesitation towards PINK! Lovely florals....the whole card is a breath of spring!
