Wild & Sweet for Global Design Project #396

Happy Wednesday

As I was playing in my craft area yesterday, I went looking for a little inspiration from design challenges.  I happened upon the CASE the designer challenge across at Global Design Project.  As soon as I saw the challenge I knew I wanted to ink up the panda stamp from Wild and Sweet.  This is a set I got in a recent order from Stampin' Up!

Here's a sneak peek:

Oh... and here's the inspiration design from Global Design Project that we have to CASE.

I loved all that white space and the circular element.  I stamped and colored the Panda from the Wild & Sweet set onto Neenah Solar White 803 paper and then die-cut it with a stitched circle die.  I needed an element to hang off the side along with the sentiment and decided to include a die-cut leave from the Inked and Tiled dies.  I kept it white so that it wouldn't detract too much from the focal element.  I wanted some texture on the base of the card so used an old SU embossing folder to add texture.  I added some ink blending, popped up the focal image and the sentiment and the card was complete.

Here's my card:

Such a fun set to play with and so easy to color.  I think it's a set that will get lots of ink :-)

On a personal note:

Well, today is my last day off work and it's back to the grindstone tomorrow.  I have thoroughly enjoyed the last couple of weeks just being disconnected and not tied to my computer screen for 12 hours a day.  It's allowed me to time relax, do some things I enjoy and reflect.  I've also gotten to sit outside and enjoy the fabulous weather we have been having.  All round a good couple of weeks!  I strongly feel retirement getting closer and closer.  Oh.. and thank you Jeanne for the smile :-)   yep... I am THAT old:-)  Mind you, other than gravity, osteoarthritis, high cholesterol and chronic stiffness I don't feel my age at all :-)  I know we will miss the income coming in every two weeks and I will miss having the freedom to make stamping purchases as frequently as I have been, but what's the use of stamping stuff if you don't have the time to use it :-)

I'll be back tomorrow (hopefully) with another card.  In the meantime, warm hugs and prayers for those of you who need a little lift tonight.

Hugs
Jaydee
