I have another card made using Stamapin' Up!'s Earthen Textures. This is day 3 of the results of me forcing myself to make at least 10 cards with a specific stamp set - and, if possible, matching DSP. Today's card is for lovers of layers :-) It also highlights one of my favorite die-cuts from the set!
Here's a sneak peek:
I incorporated the DSP and stamped images for today's card and it has several more layers than I generally work with! I was inspired by the DSP and the card came together based on that. I used two different pieces of the DSP. One for the base and one for the vertical layer.
I die-cut the palm frond and colored it with inks very similar to that from the DSP. I used finger sponges to do that as I could get better blending in the smaller areas.
Here's my full card
I do think these colors are so pretty together. I also love the DSP but it is altogether just a little busy for me. However, using it in small doses and pulling colors from it is a way to use it in a way that better fits my style. These royal colors though are right up my alley!
On a personal note:
Well, back at my desk and I can feel me biting at the bit - so to speak. I feel like a horse that still has a saddle on but really wants to go off and gallop around the farm! I think many of you wll understand that analogy. @CindyP - my bestie pretty much said the same. Took a couple of weeks to get used to retirement (she retired in February) but it wasn't long before she was enjoying the freedom of not being in the saddle and beholden to the whims and wishes of someone else. Glad to hear that you feel the same and have been enjoying reitrement for so long :-)
I'll be back tomorrow with day 4 of ideas for Earthen Textures. I hope you will come back and see what else I created. In the meantime, warm hugs and prayers for those of you who need a little lift tonight.
