Reason to Smile - Paper Players #676
11 February 2024
Happy Sunday and greetings from somewhere in the middle of the Indian Ocean!
It's the fabulous LeAnne's turn to host our Paper Players challenge this week and it's color week. LeAnne chose one of my favorite color combos - and it's perfect for those of you thinking about spring! It was the perfect excuse for me to ink up a set I bought on sale at Pinkfresh Studio called Reason to Smile.
Here's a sneak peek:
I think you might have got an inkling of what the color scheme was for this week:-) But here's LeAnne's color challenge:
Such a pretty color combo! I began by inking up the stamp and heat embossing it with white embossing powder. I didn't want dark lines around it as I wanted to keep the soft subtle colors. I then used the matching Reason to Smile stencil set to add color to the wreath. I die-cut the elements and the card was almost ready. However, I decided it needed a little something in the background to ground it, so brought out the Knitwits Stencil to add some soft texture to the background.
Here's my full card:
Such a pretty set and gorgeous colors. I hope you will join us and play along with LeAnne's challenge this week. We would love to see what you create with these colors. As always the design team have some fabulous inspiration for you:
On a personal note:
Well, we are finished with our visits to Reunion and Mauritius and are sailing the nearly 6000 kms -3,700 miles to our next stop, Freemantle/Perth in Australia. The seas have been pretty choppy, but nothing like our crossing of the Atlantic! There's a round of Norovirus going around the ship, so I am staying in my cabin except to go to the restaurant for lunch and dinner. Luckily there is lots to keep me busy. Mind you, I am not sure sitting on the deck watching the waves go by could be considered as keeping busy:-) But I have been practicing my coloring, calligraphy and watercoloring. Some of these activities are a little more successful than others! I'm also taking time to work on my genealogy. So lots of relaxation and wondering why it took me so long to retire!
I will be back tomorrow with another post on Cape Town and why I love it. If you missed the first post - and are interested in a little blog candy fun - you can check out my post here. In the meantime, warm hugs and prayers for those of you who need a little lift tonight.
Hugs
Jaydee
