Be Bold Blooms for Paper Players #683

Happy Sunday and Happy Easter.  May this joyful season fill your heart with renewed hope, love and peace.

Greetings from Sri Lanka!  Today the fabulous Ann has a wonderful tic-tac-toe for us across at the Paper Players this week.  I love tic-tac-toe week as they generally get my creative juices running and get me out of a rut.  Looking back at what I was doing in December before I left on my trip.... that doesn't seem to have worked this time around as, guess what, yep.  You got it!  It's a slimline!!!

This time I pulled out a set of dies that I got on sale at Spellbinders.  It's a fabulous floral set called Be Bold Blooms.  I had fun coloring these dies and it was even more fun to make a thank you card - something I don't seem to do enough of!  Here's a sneak peek:

Oh... and here is the wonderful Ann's tic-tac-toe board that I used as my inspiration starting point:

I went straight across the bottom: flowers, thank you and pastels.  I die-cut the pieces with 110# Neenah white card stock.  This weight is just enough to be able to use for light watercolor washes.  As you can see, I went very light on the colors for the florals and only one color for each piece.  If I had wanted to add more depth and more layers of colors, I would definitely have had to use water color paper.  But the 110# was fine for this application.

Here's my pastel thank you card.  The sentiment was created using silver embossing powder and a stamp from a set from Pinkfresh Studio.

I rarely make pastel colored cards - especially in December!  But, I did have fun putting this one together and I do love that background die that I got for sale at Pinkfresh Studio.

As always, the design team have some fabulous inspiration for you.  I do hope you will visit their blogs and leave them a little love - oh... and we'd love to have you play along with your challenge, too!

On a personal note:

Well, we have now reached the point in our world tour where we begin our return journey.  Due to the situation in the read sea, we will not be making transit through the Suez Canal or visiting the countries that we were schedule to in the Middle East on this part of our cruise.  Instead, we make a southerly turn starting tonight and come back to New York pretty much the way we came down - via the African continent.  Consequently, I have lots of sea days coming up in the next month so will be updating my travelogue to catch up on the places we have visited since travel blog post on Cape Town.  So, I will be back later in the week with a travel update.  In the meantime, I wish you all a Blessed Easter with warm hugs and prayers for those of you who need a little lift tonight.

Hugs

Jaydee

What a gorgeous array of flowers you've "arranged" here, Jaydee! Those colors are so soft and pretty, they remind me of sherbet! Yum!

Jaydee, the way in which you colored your floral die cuts resulted in an absolutely STUNNING card! The pastels are so soft and delicate. The die cut panel makes such a perfect backdrop. Thank you for making my challenge shine this week. Safe travels on your return trip!

I think the slimline was a great choice Jaydee! The perfect opportunity to showcase that fabulous die and it accommodates your pretty pastel florals perfectly; the layout with the sentiment finished with a single accent flower is just fabulous - a beautiful and seamless card. Safe onward travels - can't quite believe you are on the home stretch now!

This card caught my eye immediately Jaydee! I absolutely love that cover die and those pretty blooms, and your arrangement works perfectly on the slimline format. I hope you are having a wonderful time on your cruise and that you enjoyed your Easter celebration in new surroundings. Vicky x

Jydee, this is lovely in all of the best ways. The soft colors, the mix of florals and that background die is fabulous to add a little pop of pattern. Lovely, as always!
