It's a New Day for Paper Players #680

Happy Sunday and greetings from somewhere in the Indonesian archipelago!

It's my turn to host our Paper Players challenge this week and it's color week!  I chose a bright and cheerful color scheme and I decided to make a floral birthday card using a set I can on sale from Pinkfresh Studio called It's a New Day.  Here's a sneak peek:

Here's our challenge for this week:

I made ANOTHER mini slimline... I think I might need an intervention when I get back :-). I used the mini slimline scalloped frames for the base of the card and I stamped and heat embossed the flowers onto watercolor paper.  I then used my watercolor paints to color in the images.  I used a background die to create some texture and then popped up the flowers and leaves using foam dots.  All that I needed to do was add a sentiment and the card was finished.

Here's my card:

I hope you will join us and play along with our challenge.  We would love to see what you create with these colors.  As always, the design team have some fabulous inspiration for you:

On a personal note:

Well, we have been sailing between the many islands that make up part of Indonesia and the weather has been glorious.  We are now sailing towards Hong Kong, which is our next port of call.  The seas have been incredibly calm and, even though I am unable to make cards, I have been keeping my hands busy with calligraphy practice, watercolor practice (not going as well as my calligraphy practice!!!) sketching and coloring.  I must admit, I am beginning to really enjoy retirement:-)

I'll be back in a couple of days with a travel update on my trip to Australia.  In the meantime, warm hugs and prayers for those of you who need a little lift tonight.

I'm loving the slimlines Jaydee and the watercolouring on these blooms adds so much detail and interest. They look fab against the white too. Enjoy Hong Kong - one of my favourite destinations! Hope you are going to share some of that calligraphy in due course too!

The textured background is the perfect backdrop for your gorgeous flowers. This was such a fun challenge. Thank you for the wonderful combination of colors. Continue to enjoy your cruise. This is so soft and pretty Jaydee. I really love the scallop-edged mat you used.

I haven't made any slimline cards.... yet. This is a beautiful card. You do have a way with flowers and I always love when I see one of your floral cards.
