Dancin Monsters for PP691
26 May 2024
Happy Sunday.
It's the fabulous Claire's turn to host our Paper Players challenge this week and it's sketch week. This sketch gave me the opportunity to bring out a new set I got before I went away called Dancin' Monsters Birthday Dragon (thanks Karen!) and the dies are from Spellbinders. As you can probably tell, I am still making kids cards for a local medical facility here in our town.
I loved this set of monsters as their little legs can be set to dance with nothing but. simple foam square/circle and you can color them and dress them up with different eyes and even spectacles. Here's a sneak peek:
This is Claire's sketch:
I used an old stencil and some stencil butter to create the squares in the background. As I am incredibly impatient I used my heat gun to dry the stencil butter. I die-cut and colored my little monster and assembled him as per the instructions. I added a pair of eyes from the matching set available at Spellbinders and die-cut a pair of specs to add.
I used a Stampin' Up! embossing folder to add some texture to the tag as I kind of think it resembles the surface of a planet :-)
Here's my full card:
Isn't he/she/it so cute? Those specs just bring the dino to a whole different level. Super cute! I know I will be making lots more cards with these dies.
As always, the design team have some fabulous inspiration for you.
On a personal note:
It's hard to believe that I have been back from my trip for 3 weeks and that little Chilli has been with us for 2 weeks. I swear you can see him grow day by day. He's eating us out of house and home and has really settled in. He's go the weirdest range of mews, meows and chitters (typical of his breed) and he is super cuddly. He loves just hanging around and finds the weirdest positions to sit/sleep in. Take this photo for instance. He was fast asleep on the arm that separates our two recliners and he was absolutely out of it
When he woke up he decided he was going to sit on top of the recliner behind my head instead!
Goof ball!!! He really is super cute!
As for me I have almost finished spring cleaning every nook, cranny and cupboard in the apartment and lots of things have been taken off to Savers. The last thing I have to do is the seasonal decorations and my craft cupboard! So I will be busy doing that this week. I don't know what it is about spring cleaning that makes me happy, but it's a yearly ritual. For me it's the perfect break between the very long Minnesota winters and the short spring season and I know that once I start spring cleaning, summer and warm days will be here soon.
I'll be back in a couple of days. In the meantime, warm hugs and prayers for those of you who need a little lift tonight.
Hugs
Jaydee
