Kitty Hugs for Paper Players #694

Happy Sunday.

It's the fabulous LeAnne's turn to host our Paper Players challenge this week and she has a..... errrr..... I forgot to fully read the challenge...... Clean and Simple challenge for us this week.  I was in such a rush to catch up on cards after 5 months off that I didn't read the challenge and missed the Clean and Simple bit altogether - until I came to write this blog post!

I'm busy making kids cards and saw the encouragement part of LeAnne's challenge and thought I would use the Kitty Hugs die and stamps from Spellbinders and paired it with a piece of retired SU DSP to make an Hooray card.  Here's a sneak peek:

And here is LeAnne's challenge:

I die-cut the kitten and then added his face and paws from the matching stamp set.  I added some blended edges to give him a little bit more depth and added a banner sentiment between his paws.  Now... if I hadn't added the background paper, this would have qualified as CAS!  Anyway, here's my card:

Such a great die - there's a doggy one, too!   As always the design team have some fabulous inspiration for you:

On a personal note:

Well, we had a very busy beginning of the week as we had visitors from Australia with us for a long weekend.  It was a weekend full of food, laughter and it was an early Father's Day present to Lou.  We learned that our new kitten Chilli is just a little more shy than we thought and it took him a couple of days to come out of hiding whilst they were here.  Hopefully he will grow out of that as he gets older.   Talking about growing - boy he certainly is doing that!  He managed to put on almost half a pound a week for the first three weeks that he was with us!  I took this photo of him this morning lounging on the climber and, as you can see, that top perch just isnt big enough for him - even though he is still very much a kitten!  I swear his ear tufts are growing longer!

He wasn't that pleased about me waking him up - his little face certainly is expressive!   And, he really knows how to get comfortable.  He was cuddling Lou on the recliner last night as we watched TV - how he fit into that little space I have no idea, but he was fast asleep!

I'm trying to finish up making the cards for the kids today and hoping to make some cards for fun this week.   I bought a couple of different card kits to make some of the cards and really enjoyed playing with some of them.  The thing about the kits is that they get me out of my own style lane and force me to make cards that I wouldn't normally do.  I did really enjoy playing around with some Queen & Co interactive card kits and I will share the results of that experiment with you tomorrow.  In the meantime, warm hugs and prayers for those of you who need a little lift tonight.

Hugs
