Stampin! with Jaydee

Happy Thursday.

I got the chance to play in my craft room today and found this great challenge across at Inspired By.  I loved the theme and was also inspired by the sketch, but my elements ended up not being in the right places!  The theme provided the right excuse for me to bring out a very old set from The Greetery called Katie's Cuties:  Feelin' Fan Sea.  As I am still making cards for Ronald McDonald, I thought this set would make a great card for them.

I stamped all the images with Versafine black and then added some clear embossing powder and heat set it.  I colored the images with my watercolor paints and then die-cut all the individual pieces.

For the background I used a stencil from My Favorite Things called Watercolor wash rectangle.  I thought it provided the feel of movement under the water and was a whimsical enough shape to fit with the images.   I used both sand and two shades of blue for the background and then added some brown and gold splatters on the sandy piece and some silver metallic splatters on the blue.  Unfortunately, they don't show up on the photo.  I added a sentiment from the Queen & Co Under the Sea kit that I got and the card was finished.

Don't they look dapper in their top hat and tie?  I just love them, they make me smile.  I know the team across at Inspired By will appreciate you playing along.

Well, I am off to play a little bit more:-)  Oh, the joys of being retired and not having to be governed by meetings and webex and messaging going off every couple of minutes.  Mmmm..   do you think I might be enjoying being retired? :-)
