Cozy Blooms - with love and gratitude Paper Players #710

Happy Sunday.

It's the fabulous Jan's turn to host our Paper Players challenge this week.  As it is coming into Spring in the antipodean countries, Jan choose a very different theme for our challenge and I love that we are doing something that isn't necessarily fall or Halloween themed.

It was the perfect opportunity to use some goodies that I received as part of the Pinkfresh Studio Create and Connect classes in August.  Lou and I were in Scotland when the classes took place, so I watched on replay afterwards.  One of the sets we got as part of our classes was the Cozy Blooms.  It comes with stamps, washi tape and dies.  For this card I used the washi tape and the dies.  I also paired it with an embossing folder we got from Spellbinders called Cross My Heart.

Here's a sneak peek:

Here's Jan's challenge for this week:

To make my card I used the embossing folder and then die-cut out a circle in the middle.  I cut out a slightly smaller circle using gold mirror cardstock as I wanted to make a frame for the blossoms that were going to be in the middle.  I added a little vellum in front of the washi tape in the circle to push the strong colors back just a little.  I used some of the die cut flowers to cluster around the sentiment.

Here's my card:

I hope you will join us and play along with Jan's challenge this week.  We would love to see what YOU create.  As always, the design team have some fabulous inspiration for you:

On a personal note:

Lou and I are finally moving tomorrow.  Not everything is quite ready at the house yet, but we are moving anyway.  We really can't push this date out again otherwise the moving company will have an apoplexy!  As we prepare for this move I cannot help but think of those affected by Helene.  During the period 2018-2020, Lou and I made several trips down to the Asheville area to look for a house.  We both fell in love with Asheville and several of the communities close by.  We spent many happy days traveling around the area visiting Hendersonville, Chimney Rock, Black Mountain, Biltmore Village, Asheville, Greenville, and many other smaller towns.  We made good friends with our realtor down there and were really looking forward to moving.  However, life had different ideas and we were forced to give up that dream.

These last few days I have seen so many videos and photographs of the complete and utter devastation that Helene wrought.  That part of North Carolina is stunningly beautiful and we looked at houses on lakes and with the most stunning views imagineable from the sides of mountains.  My heart aches for all those affected across all the states and for those that lost family members and everything they hold dear.  Even though this move has not been without a little drama, we are so lucky to have our possessions to move and a house to move into.  When we move tomorrow and start placing our goods and furniture, I will thank God and the universe itself for what we have and give prayers for those that don't.

Hugs

Jaydee
