Water You Up To for Paper Players #715

Happy Sunday

It's the fabulous Claire's turn to host our Paper Players challenge this week and it's color week.  Claire's bright colors had me scratching my head for a while.  Anyone who has been around my blog for a while will know that I tend not to use a lot of bright colors - especially together.  However, when I pulled out the inks and looked at them together I had this idea for a set that I had purchased from Spellbinders a little while ago to make cards for Ronald McDonald.  The set is called Water You Up To and I thought these colors would work perfectly with it.

Here's a sneak peek:

And here is Claire's color challenge:

I told you they were bright :-). I stamped the images and then colored them very losely with my watercolor paints.  I used a die from My Favorite Things to create a frame for the scene.  I blended the background and then added my die cut images to the frame.  I managed to incorporate all the colors and still keep the card clean and simple.  I just love the sentiment!   Here's my card:

I hope you will join us and play along with Claire's color challenge.  We would love to see what you create.  As always the design team have some fabulous inspiration for you:

On a personal note:

Well, the weather has changed and finally fall has arrived.  We have had a couple of windy and wet days and the wind and rain have deprived the trees of the last vestiages of the leaves that were hanging on.  It finally feels like fall... but isn't it supposed to be feeling like winter here in Minnesota!  The sunroom is still catching rays when they are out, but it's much colder in there now.  We have a space heater in there and it's managed to warm it up enough that the cats (and I) still like being out there.  I took a couple of photos while I was out there a few nights ago.

I love the table and can tell you that the top is a solid piece of marble.  Getting it from the garage and into the sunroom was a mammoth effort.  The table weighs 127 pounds!  If you look carefully you can see our old man Charlie on the climber!

Looking the other way you can see that the trees were mostly bare

One more.... just because I can't get enough of that tree!

One of the things we had to deal with before moving in was the very long drop from the upper floor to the ground floor.  We were both very worried that furry paws Chili and furry paws Smudgie would jump onto the half wall and slide right off.  We finally came up with the idea of putting up sneeze guards across the length of the wall and it seems to be working to keep the cats from jumping.  The perspex is not at all intrusive, but it's visible enough that the cats can see it and decide not to jump.

It's a pretty vertiginous drop - but gives a great view of the living room!

There is one spot in the family room that the cats fight over.  We have the TV and the recliners in there - as well as their favorite cat tree.  This seat -currently occupied by Chili is a favorite.  During the day it gets lots of sun and Charlie curls up into a tight ball and sleeps.  In the evening, when we are watching TV, it's time shared :-)

Can we talk about those ear tufts... and the fact that his mane is coming in!!!  It's hard to believe that he's only 9 months old and won't have finished growing until he's 2!

Such a handsome floofball!  I'll be back later in the week with some cards I've made from my classes.  In the meantime, warm hugs and prayers for those of you who need a little lift tonight.

Hugs

Jaydee
