Inquisitive Frogs for Colorful Options March 2025

Happy Monday.

I got to play along with a new to me challenge today called Colorful Options.  Every month they choose a different color and this month's color is green.  It was the perfect opportunity for me to create a card with a die and stamp set that was part of my Valentine's Day present called Inquisitve Frogs from Waffle Flower.

Now, don't get me wrong... making girly cards featuring flowers is probably one of my favorite things to do.  However, I committed to making kids cards and so I bought some sets that work especially well for kiddie cards and this set is one of those.

Here's a sneak peek:

And here's the challenge badge for Colorful Options:

Once you see the badge you know exactly why I HAD to use the Inquisitive Frogs die!

This was a really easy card to pull together.   I used two stencils over the top of each other.  A base stencil which creates an amorphous shape from My Favorite things and the Seafoam stencil from Waffle Flower that creates the pattern.  I used a mix of greens for the pond as I wanted a little variety of blues and greens.

I then die-cut and ink blended the frog and lily pad.  I also added some metallic water color paint to the lily pad and some using different colors to the frog - after all, what frogs don't have warts or spots or markings of some kind! :-)

All I had to do was add the sentiment and pop up my frog.  Here's my card:

Isn't that fun?  I just love it.  I know the design team across at Colorful Options would love you to play along!

On a personal note:

Well, we have been celebrating temps in the 40s and even touching the 50s.  We've had the windows open in the house, the sun has been shining and it's felt like spring was here.  Well, Mother Nature has other things in store for us... but, living in Minnesota for nearly 30 years, should have reminded me that Spring in Minnesota means snow!

Tonight we are under a winter storm warning for up to 9 inches of the white stuff and up to 50 mile per hour winds.  Good job we didn't put the stuff out on the deck!

I'll be back tomorrow with another card because, well, with weather like that, the best place is my craft room!   Warm hugs and prayers for those of you who need a little lift tonight.

Hugs

Jaydee
