To the Moon and Back Atlantic Hearts Sketch #622
24 March 2025
Happy Monday.
I hope you all had a great weekend! Ours was relaxing and laid back and we managed to get a couple of things accomplished around the house, not least of which was me making a huge indent in going through my crafting stash, sorting and purging. I like to do that every year around this time.
As I was somewhat organized today, I was able to play along with the latest challenge across at Atlantic Hearts Sketch. I had absolutely NO idea what I was going to do with this sketch until I saw an old stamp and die set sitting at the top of my recycle pile. I knew the sketch would be the perfect one to use some fun DSP and found a pack that I got free as part of a Scrapbook.com order. Once I saw that and looked again at the set on top of my recycle pile... I knew exactly what I was going to do. First thing was to take the set off the recycle pile :-)
I used a set called To the Moon and Back from Photoplay and some paper called Blast Off from Echo Park. I also paired it with a brand new coverplate from Waffle Flower called Sparkle Panel. Here's a sneak peek:
And here's the sketch from Atlantic Hearts:
I honestly had so much fun with this card. I initially used the Sparkle Panel die with black card stock, but it just sucked the energy out of these fabulous, bright and cheerful papers. So, I decided to re cut it with white. I added some old holographic cardstock that I got aeons ago from Simon Says Stamp and it worked so well behind the sparkle panel. I love the way the holographic colors show up differently in the die cut areas. It's so fun when you see it in real life.
I cut the papers and arranged them to fit the sketch. I stamped and die cut a little out of space creature and mottled him with yellow and green Copic markers. I stamped and die-cut a sentiment from the same Photo Play set and popped that up with foam squares.
Here's my full card:
Don't you just love all those bright and cheerful colors? And you can see the different colors cast by the holographic paper in the background. This card just makes me smile!
I know the talented team across at Atlantic Hearts would appreciate you playing along. I'm off to do some more crafting and should be back later in the week. In the meantime, warm hugs and prayers for those of you who need a little lift tonight.
Hugs
Jaydee
