Sketchbook Roses for Atlantic Hearts Sketches 627
30 April 2025
Happy Wednesday.
I'm playing along with the new sketch across at Atlantic Hearts Sketches this week. I had such fun working with this sketch and pulled out a very old set from The Greetery called Sketchbook Roses. It's one of those sets that manages to survive every purge of my crafting goodies:-)
Here's a sneak peek:
I paired the image with some old SU DSP and a envelope die from Pinkfresh Studio that I got as part of a crafting event. I actually created two different versions. This brighter, deeper color with the black outline and a much softer, more pastel version with silver embossing powder.
Oh and here's the sketch from Atlantic Hearts
I began by stamping the image onto the smooth side of hot pressed water color paper and then used my watercolor inks to color the image.
I added the DSP from SU under the envelope edge I created as I loved the textured look of the DSP. I die-cut the rose image and adhered it to the card base. All that was left was to add a sentiment.
Here's my full card:
I thought the watercolor look of the DSP with the splatters and similar color palette worked really well with the bolder colors of the florals.
For the second card I changed up the background to a dry embossed background and used an old Stamp Market border die as it had a softer shape. Here's the softer version I made:
I know the design team have Atlantic Hearts would love you to play along with this fabulous sketch!
I'll be back tomorrow with another card. In the meantime, warm hugs and prayers for those of you who need a little lift tonight.
Hugs
Jaydee
