Geared Up for Paper Players # 739

Happy Sunday.

It's the fabulous LeAnne's turn to host our Paper Players challenge this week and it's sketch week.  It was a great excuse to bring out some old DSP and an old SU stamp set called Geared Up.  This is another one of those sets that will have a home in my crafting space for ever.  It never gets old and is perfect for guy cards.  Mind you, I do klnow some women who drive/drove red sports cars that would appreciate it - like me!  I still miss my old red Alfa Romeo :-)

Here's a sneak peek:

And here's LeAnne's sketch:

I die-cut the panels from some old SU DSP and then used that same DSP to die-cut the gears.  I added the panels and the gears to my card base and then stamped and colored the car.  As I didn't want any white around my car, I fussy cut it instead of using the dies.  I added a birthday sentiment and then popped up the car in front of the gears.

The card came together really easily.  Here's my full card:GearedUpPP739

I hope you will join us and play along with our challenge this week.  We would love to see what YOU create using LeAnne's sketch.

As always, the design team have some fabulous inspiration for you:

On a personal note:

Well, we finished up our gathering in British Columbia.  I have to admit I pulled a fast one on Lou.  He thought we were going up there for a quiet 12 days rest and relaxation - just the two of us.  Nah!  I had secretly worked with my step-daughters to get them to meet up with us in Vancouver and then spend the rest of the time with us in a wonderful AirBNB in Victoria on Vancouver Island.  One of them flew all the way from Australia with a 20 month old and the other flew in from Scotland.  To say that Lou was surprised was an understatement.  I cannot tell you what it took to keep this little secret since October!   At one point I was making to do notes on my desk in shorthand so that he wouldn't be able to read them!!!!

It was a wonderful time and great memories were made.  I had forgotten how wonderful a 20 month old can be.  We drove around doing things during the day and spent many, many hours around the dining table talking and laughing.  Then, the girls (Lou and the 20 month old went to bed) would retire to the theatre room (yes, the air BNB had one of those!) to watch movies.  Needless to say, we weren't exactly up and about with the early birds :-)  I have a couple of videos and some photos to share and will do that next week.  In the meantime, warm hugs and prayers for those of you who need a little lift tonight.

Hugs

Jaydee
