Sakura Blossoms for Freshly Made Sketches 684

Happy Thursday.

I have a quick post for you tonight using a new set from a crafty company that is brand new to me.  The set is called Sakura Blossom Meraki Motif by Crafty Meraki.   A couple of weeks ago I got an email from Jennifer McGuire - seriously, it was like getting an email from royalty!  Jennifer let me know that my name had been selected to receive one of the Crafty boxes that she sells for charity throughout the year.  I'd forgotten that I had even put my name down on the list way back when!  Anyway, I paid my 100 dollars for the box (which goes to charity) and the postage and two weeks later a box of goodies arrived that was so heavy Lou could hardly carry it up the stairs.  It was a medium sized priority mail box from the post office that was overflowing, filled to the brim, with all sorts of stamps and dies and inks and embellishments.  I honestly was stunned by just how much stuff was in that box.

It was so much stuff that it took me over a day to go through it, sort out what I wanted to keep, catalog it, put them all into storage packets, note them in my crafting stash document - and I haven't even started labelling them!  The great thing out it was that there were many things I hadn't seen before, some I wouldn't have bought - like this set - but am so glad I have it - and even some that I was waiting to buy!

I was inspired to use this particular set - as well as a border die from SSS that was also in the box - when I saw the sketch across at Freshly Made.  Here's a sneak peek of my card:

I think I might need an intervention.  This card is pink!  I think I've made more pink cards in the last few months than I have my entire crafting life!!!

Anyway, here's the FMS sketch!

Now, the Sakura Blossoms set that I got from Jenniver comes with a betterpress plate for the image, a set of stencils and a matching die.  So, I pulled out my Betterpress plate and got to work!

I inked and pressed the image and then used the matching stencils to color the images and die-cut it.   I used the scallop border die, which is actually part of a set that came and is meant for slimlines, but works perfectly well on normal A2 cards.  I decided to give a little bit of texture to the background so I ran the white panel through my Gina K Intricut machine (favorite machine!!!).  I adhered the florals using pop up foam and then added some jewels to the center of the flowers.

The sentiment is from a set called Folk Heart Sentiments from The Greetery.  Here's my full card:

So glad this set was in my crafty goodies box!  I can see it getting a lot of use.  I know it really should be on the horizontal, but I changed it to meet the sketch :-)

I'll be back tomorrow with my Addicted to CAS card.  In the meantime, warm hugs and prayers for those of you who need a little lift tonight.

Hugs

Jaydee
