Hi Everyone. Happy Saturday. It's the fabulous Barb's turn to host our AddictedtoCAS Challenge this week and it's one of my favorites :-) I love one layer cards as they are always a challenge. This time I decided to go with a monochromatic approach of various shades of grey and featuring one of my all time favorite flowers - Good Morning Magnolia from Stampin' Up! I began by stamping the image onto a soft grey card stock from Simon Says Stamp and set about coloring it with my Prismacolor pencils. I used cooler and warmer shades of the greys to... Read more →

Hi Everyone. Happy Sunday. It's my turn to host the Paper Players challenge this week - and it's theme week. I really wanted to use a quote that is in the Casual Fridays Big Treble set. It really is a great sentiment. Originally I was going to do a very clean and simple card and not put anything on the card other than the sentiment. However, I went through my paper stash and found this gorgeous piece of paper. It was originally 6x6, so I had to do some manipulation of the cutting to get it to fit my 4.25... Read more →

Hi Everyone. It's the fabulous Laurie's turn to host our Paper Players challenge this week and she has a color challenge for us: I started with a Smoky Slate base and stamped flowers from Altenew's Sweetest Peas with the darkest grey. I added the slightest touch of yellow to the base of the flowers, but the photographs are showing much more yellow/orange than there really is! Here's my card: I hope you will join us and play along.... Read more →

Hi Everyone. Happy Monday. Popping in with a quick post today. I did manage to spend a little time in my craft room yesterday and played along with this great sketch at FreshlyMade As the vertical element was going to be popped off the page, I didn't want to add more bulk to the card by adding an embossed or speciality paper for the middle element. I decided to use a stencil to create a pattern for that area instead. I then used my Ellen Hutson stitched dies to add a stitched detail above and below the stenciling. Here's a... Read more →

Hi Everyone. Happy Sunday. It's my turn to host our Paper Players challenge this week and I have a sketch for you: I decided to make this card for a work colleague who is coming up for her 3rd year of being cancer free. I thought the image, and the sentiment, from Beautiful You would be perfect to express congratulations on reaching this milestone. I'm also entering this card in the Time Out Challenge The friend this card is for - would love this quote! To add some interest to the background, I used my Altenew die-cut. I didn't want...
